I'm going to be slowly migrating the rest of my Macs to 10.10 [and then 10.11] shortly, as I've got my lone 10.10 laptop working nearly as well as my 10.9 machines. The one key software that's missing is PTHPasteboard Pro. For me, it's the first thing I install on my Macs. It's an awesome clipboard manager with syncing and a large number of features with a minimal and very customizable UI.

The developer stopped working on it as 10.10 broke it. I'd like to know what "power user" clipboard manager works under 10.10. The ones I have found so far are very, very basic. More than likely, something powerful exists outside the MAS, as the sandboxing rules would more than likely prevent it from being on the MAS.

Any leads to a great pasteboard/clipboard app would be most appreciated! Thanks!

There are some good news for you: Despite other news PTHPasteboard Pro, the best clipboard manager for me, is still working for me, on Yosemite and now on El Capitan. I didn't experienced any shortcomings til yet. I was not aware, that other users, and the developer, have had problems for running the pasteboard. After years of using it without problems I am not sure, how i got it running. As I remember, is was a problem with Gatekeeper. I tried some solutions to get it running.

So try to deactivate Gatekeeper. Then go to the folder, the preference pane is installed, should be /Library/PreferencePanes/PTHPasteboard.prefPane. Then ctrl-click klick PTHPasteboard.prefPane for the contextual menu and there to open. Once running, the Gatekeeper-problem doesn't exist any more and you can activate Gatekeeper again. I had to do this procedure only once, despite restarts oder upgrades to El Capitan now. I hope, that is the complete procedure und you and others are getting PTHPasteboard Pro running again. I hope, the developer will support this great clipboard manager again. I'is really worth it.

Thank you for the detailed info about PTHPasteboard! I had given it a try when I upgraded my laptop to 10.10 [my main desktop is still 10.9], and had funky issues with it - the sync between computers wasn't working, though I could live with that, but I thought something else later broke that was more to do with the basic functionality of it when a 10.10.x update came out. I will have to re-install it and give it a try and do as you say above with the .prefPane file. I'm hoping to finally update to 10.11 on both my iMac and MBP this week, so I'll report back when I do. That's one of those programs I can't live without...I really hope the author brings back development or sells the app to another developer. The website doesn't look hopeful for that though. :(

Thanks so much, @Rainer101 ! Much appreciated! :)

That worked perfect! Thank you so much! I had it working on Yosemite a while back, but the sync wasn't working. I have not tested that feature yet, but even if the sync won't work, I am still happy. Haven't found anything close to PTHPasteboard that's actively developed. I hope this works for a few more years! :)

The only issue I've noticed is that if you hover over an item in the window showing your history long enough for the tool tip to show up, they will keep partially showing up after the window is hidden. It's as if it thinks the mouse is still going over the different items in the window. Have to quit and reopen the helper to fix it. Other than that I haven't found any clipboard manager that comes close to doing what I want.
Admittedly some of the more modern apps have some nice features/are prettier, but when it comes right down to it they don't make the cut.
