In Search of a Website

I saw a few weeks ago a crowd sourcing website for graphic designers, much like 99designs. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm going to school for web design but am very knowledgeable and any extra income would really be awesome.

The only ones I know about are now overrun with people from India and other countries that work for WAY cheaper than we ever would here in the US. Sorry.

Work on your portfolio and find a non-profit or local business to do some work for. You'll get much better value for your time than you ever will competing on one of those sites.

Yes a portfolio would be nice.
It's the first thing I would be looking for, as I am always in need of very experienced designers.
