In-store Reservations

How do I know if and when Apple will be doing reservations for the 3G iPad? Do I just have to keep bugging them on the phone? :p
 
the reservation program ended in late march-early april.;)

i would want to reserve one.

but grgh.

umma wait in line at 3pm on Friday the 30th.

That was for the WiFi version. There has not been confirmation either way in regards to the iPad 3G.

I mean, the purpose of the in store reservation is to be notified that once stock arrives an iPad will be set aside for you. However, in order to do this iPad 3Gs must ship to the store, pre-orders get them first, then I would venture to guess the in store reservations will commence.

No, in store reservations aren't online reservations. In store reservations can only be done in store. It is designed to let you go into any Apple store and reserve an iPad. When the iPads are back in stock you get an e-mail.

What is wrong with people over this whole reservation process with the iPad 3G? LOL! I too am trying to lock in a reservation at my Apple Store for the 30th. The same thing I did for the launch of the iPad Wifi. You know that option that popped up on several locations of Apples website when the iPad was announced? CLICK HERE TO RESERVE iPad AT YOUR LOCAL APPLE STORE. Sorry for the CAPS but sheesh. It's like everyone has gone all Invasion of the Body Snatchers on this issue. The posters on this board. Apple Sore employees. Yeah, when I called to ask about reserving the iPad 3G they talked up their other reservation process. The one where I can "reserve" an iMac for purchase and schedule that purchase with a genius or salesperson. It's like no one remembered the giant lines at the iPad launch. One which was for Reserve customers and the other which wasn't.

This has been very frustrating waiting for this answer but I think now that Apple has announced the official release date that we will know about possible reservations in the next day or two. At least I hope so anyway as I did not pre order online and do not wish to stand in line for the majority of a Friday afternoon.
 
Here is the text of the email sent to me before Saturday the 3rd from Apple.

When you come in to pick up your iPad, you'll be directed to a line for those with reservations. We'll have Specialists ready to help you set up your iPad, free workshops, and more. We look forward to seeing you at the store.

Pickup Date and Time
April 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Please note that your reservation will be held only until 3 p.m. on April 3. After 3 p.m., iPad will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

I ended up having to speak with 3 different employees at the Apple store, and the guy who seemed to have a clue says that the option to reserve a 3G ipad and pick up at the store will become available "SOON" on Apple's website.
 
Bumping for more info. I want to reserve it at my local Apple store, anyone think this is going to happen in the next few days? Hate to camp out the afternoon if I don't have to. Would rather be doing some yardwork i'll be neglecting the w/e I get my 3g haha :D
