Does anyone remember a free game from MacWorld that took place on a spaceship where you started in the cargo hold with crates and had to figure out what to do next? The graphics were very cartoon-y and there were no other characters in the space ship. Everything was random and you had to figure out the clues to get to the next level... no text strictly trial and error.

Second level was in a lounge with an elevator where you had to figure out the sequence of buttons to push which took you to command center where you had to figure out how to fix the hyperdrive.

Anyone else remember this? it was truly a puzzle game, no guns, no other strange things, just trial and error or logic...

I am sure it came from a macWorld disc...

Sounds kind of like Space Quest, but It's been about 20 years, so I could be mixing things up.

This does sound a lot like Space Quest. Was it Space Quest 1, which was remade into a point-and-click interface in the very early 90's? What part of teh 90s? What was the interface (point-click, text, etc)

Were you playing a janitor? I seem to vaguely remember that in the Space Quest series...

i still have all the space quests.. play great in DOSBox :)

the description doesn't sound like Space Quest I because there were other people on the start up ship, and you try to escape it, not fix it...

It was point and click with the only way to find a solution was a process of trial and error. I remember the elevator was cylinder with colored buttons of different sizes. You had to figure out the sequence of buttons to puch to get the elevator to take you to the bridge. Like I said, you started in the cargo hold and had to look into crates in the proper order to get to Step #2.

Thanks for your input... and I never saw another soul on the ship... maybe I didn't get far enough in the game.
