By posting in this thread, you are telling us, in advance, what is the most likely explanation if you should suddenly stop posting at MacRumors without anyone knowing why. That way, if it occurs, we can look here and have some idea what might have happened to you.

If you already told us about moving on to other interests, or you came here only to ask a question and take off with the answer, or you know you would speak up before leaving, you don't need this thread.

But if you've been here a while, just hanging around, and have friends who have gotten to know you, wouldn't you like them to know what probably became of you?

You got into Harvard and have no time for MacRumors anymore?
You applied to Apple for a job and will be under an NDA if you get it?
Your Mac has been making a funny noise and you may soon be computerless?
You are getting married or having a baby and will be too busy with family to visit us here?
You are likely to enter the Witness Protection Program sometime soon?
You are switching to a PC because Macs are too fun?

Please... let us know ahead of time what became of you, er..., I mean... what will have become of you.

If I disappear, it will probably be because I finally hit the breaking point with too many simultaneous interests and activities, and other priorities edged out MacRumors in the competition for my time.

Or I'm in the hospital.

Either way, be patient, and I'll probably be back or will get a message to you.

if i'm gone it most likely means i'm off to college and have better stuff to do than post here, even though MR is the cooleest place on earth.

I'm...

If I'm gone it either means I've finally gotten a real job that takes up a lot of my time or I'm living on the streets and can't afford internet access. The 3rd possibilty is that I've had it with the trappings of the modern world and have moved to the mountains of Alaska to be at one with nature.

If you do not see a marketplace listing for me at least once a month, then I have bit the big one. :D

I disappear every so often for a month or three, but I always come back - life just intrudes for periods of time, then, for a while, I feel hesitant to come back (for some odd reason), then I dive right back in.

If anything truly bad happens, I'm sure emw will let you all know.

If I'm not here then my Mac probably has a virus.
So... you're never going away?

Don't forget to take me off your ignore list.
On second thought, ignore this, too.

iBlue, your new 'tar makes me have bad bad thoughts.

If I disappear, it's because my hard drive failed. Ppp-ppp-ppp, knock on wood, etc.
