Not sure if this is an iOS or hardware issue. Problem seems to only happen with incoming calls. Call comes in, see it on screen, answer. During call or at end of call, move phone away from face and the screen stays dark. I have to press the home button to wake the screen so that I can hang up.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Not experienced it sorry. It's the opposite problem to what everyone in TV and films has, where their phone a screen stays on during a call :O

Yes, happens to me every time and I really don't care for it. Hope it's not intentional and gets fixed.

After more testing, it seems to be unrelated to incoming or outgoing calls. Quite annoying. First thought it was due to screen protector but removed that and still happening. Guess ill try a reset all settings next and see how it goes. Have any of you already tried that?

I almost feel stupid saying this, but my issue was from a E2E screen protector. I've confirmed on both my iPhone 7 and my wife's, bought at same time, that the proximity sensor doesn't like anything over it, even the clear glass of a E2E screen protector. The protector was on correctly. The clear section was correctly over the sensor. But the sensor still consider it as being blocked.
