As the title says really - I have everything set up on iPhone X and iMac (2019) to allow phone calls to be handed off from the phone to the Mac. The Mac is connected to a Time Capsule for WiFi, both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. It’s also connected to the TC by ethernet, via a powerline adapter (they’re on different floors of the house).
Making outbound calls works no problem, whatever the connection preference. With incoming calls though, the pop up appears on the Mac but after clicking Accept there’s a brief pause before it says ‘call failed’.
Within Network Preferences, WiFi is usually at the top of the service order list, with Ethernet second. However, if I swap them over so that Ethernet’s top, incoming calls start working immediately. Put WiFi back to the top and they fail again.
I would rather have WiFi at the top of the service list - it’s actually faster than the ethernet connection - but I like ethernet to be there for reliability of Time Machine backups to the Time Capsule.
Any ideas why incoming phone calls don’t like WiFi?
