iPod Incorrect Album Artwork downloaded

In some cases when iTunes downloads album artwork, the image it displays is not the correct cover of the actual CD. It may be that the track name and artist name is correct, but the album that is displayed is not the right one. In many cases it is from some compilation of some kind. Why is that? Shouldn't iTunes check all "parameters"?
