Hi guys,

I'm looking to find something that can help me increase the wifi coverage (with dual band 11ac) in a beach house with an area of around 1,500 square meters. The beach house is one story, with brick walls, and has wide open areas to the front and backyard where there're rooms where I would like to get wifi coverage.

Here's an image attached with the layout:

I would like to have proper coverage across the entire property, from Bedroom 1 & 2 (front) all the way to the Gazebo located at the beach (back).

I was thinking of putting an outdoor access point next to the Kitchen and/or near Bedroom 5 (close to the pool area). I need something that can be mounted outdoors, with power over ethernet, and within the $200 USD range. I found the Engenius ENS1750 seems to satisfy my requirentes and claims to have high transmit power for long range connections, however it does not specify if it would cover 1,500 m2.

Has anyone used this access point or do you have any other recommendations that would help me?

Why not just use a WiFi extender. Or two. They work great and are relatively inexpensive. You just plug them into a regular outlet and connect them to your WiFi.

We experimented with OpenMesh APs at my school briefly. They seemed to work well, although the feature set was a bit limited for us. Might be perfect for your application, though.

Our system is all Xirrus and while they do have products that would suit your needs, they're priced well above $200.
