I was using iNdependence to activate and unlock my iphone. However just when it finished activating message an error box popped up saying "couldn't create new ram disk image" what does this mean?how can I fix this?I need for this phone to be working fully in few hours!please help this is urgent, thanks!

If you go to their site I think the fix is on the known issues list. Click on the link.
From the site:
"iNdependence almost always hangs after creating the RAM disk file. It never gets to the jailbreak/activate/SIM unlock stage after creating the RAM disk. It just sits there at the "Waiting for jail break" dialog. If you don't see the screen of your phone change for more than a couple of minutes after you see the "Waiting for jail break" message, then it's likely frozen.
WORKAROUND: Quit and restart iNdependence, then try again."

Hope that works.

This was on their home page.
"Feb. 19/08 - I'm back at it again after a vacation this past weekend. Some updates: On the good news front, someone has reported to me that they were able to jailbreak a 1.1.3 iPod touch using iNdependence 1.4 beta 2. On the bad news front, the biggest source of problems with 1.4 beta 2 seems to be with the RAM disk creation stage. If you are having problems: open up Finder, right-click on iNdependence.app, select "Show Package Contents", navigate to Contents/Resources/, delete the file named "ramit112.dat", then run iNdependence again and try to jailbreak. When I get some time, I'm going to put better error checking (and status information) in the RAM disk creation stage. That should alleviate some of the nastier problems people are encountering."
Good Luck!

Same problem

I am having the same problem and I don´t have ramit112.dat. The only file I find under resources are ramit112_files.zip and there is no ramit112.dat file inside this.
Can someone please help me?
