InDesign Tutorials?

Does anyone have or know of a site that has some good tutorials for learning Indesign?

I learned InDesign (what little bit I know) from Lynda.com's tutorial videos that came with my Adobe Suite and also the Adobe Classroom in a Book for InDesign. I'm not sure where you can find tutorials online. Maybe this site perhaps?!?!

Not many tutorials, but here are some good things to know (Master Pages, Preflight/Package, Bleed, etc.)

Surprisingly - there are a fair number of ID tutorials on You Tube - just do a search there.

I learned InDesign in a formal classroom setting as part of my Graphic Design curriculum, but there are a couple of good books out there that will help you if you take the time to complete the associated lessons.

The first book is Adobe InDesign CS3 Classroom in a Book by Adobe Press. This covers all the tools and basic techniques.

The second is Real World InDesign CS3 also by Adobe Press that covers more advanced topics.

I learned InDesign CS2 sitting in my grandfather's office on his PowerMac G5 Quad. He taught me a lot. He taught me the power of using Photoshop & InDesign together, boy is it cool!

InDesign Tutorials

I was a Quark girl until very recently - then I picked up a redesign freelance job where the file I had to work with was in ID - which I still hadn't learned and only had the original version of. So I bought the upgrade and dove in.

Learned it on the fly, doing this freelance project that was a 56 page guide. In the end, as MacNerd12 says, the best way to learn a program is to just do it - there were times when I had to go online to find answers to my questions and things I just figured out how to do on my own - if you already know the other Adobe products, and have worked in other page layout programs, you'll pick it up.

There are many forums where people are more than willing to help if you stumble on something. But really, just open a file, play with it, and away you go.
