does anybody knows how to get rid of one page? not the whole spread (2 pages) just one side (1 left page)

Click on the page, and then on the trash can icon? Is that not working for you?

Have you tried just clicking on the page you want to delete, and then on the trash can? Without dragging, I mean.

Also, are there brackets around the page numbers? Like [4-5]?
