iPhone Index of all apps on the App Store

Is there a list of all apps on the Apple's app store somewhere for me to index and search ?
My friend is writing a Python script for some research and can do a search via script on https://play.google.com/store but there doesn't seem to be an index of all apps on the App Store.

I've seen third party apps and websites (AppApp.io , AppAnnie.com) that have access to it so must be available.

The iTunes search API is a mechanism to extract app store app data.

I use it for my web app which searches for premium, no IAP games.
