I work fixing Macs for a service Provider that does warranty work. Until today I have not had the need to call the Service Provided Tech Support number in the last few months. It seems that they have shut the number down in January and instead you are forced to chat to someone online. Now the worst part is not that it takes three times as long to get an answer because you are not talking but 'chatting', but that you are no longer talking to someone in the US but India instead. Well, I know I will never buy a new Mac from now on.

Are there other similar changes that have been made that I do not know about?

Yeah Apple has had their phone support based in India for a number of years now.

And for me they're actually more useful than the dodo-head morons who work at my local Apple store.
