I have read all of the posts on bags for a 15inch Mac Book Pro, but they are all out of my budget. I am a college student, and $70+ seems a little extravagant for a bag. I just need something to protect and transport my laptop and power supply, and I am not planning on dropping it, beating it up, etc.

Here's the thing. How much did your MBP cost? How much would it cost to replace if something happened to it? Maybe $1,500 to $3,000? $70 seems like a lot smaller of a sum, eh? It's about a bit of investing to protect your purchase.

Besides, most people don't "plan on" dropping or beating up their computers-- it's a portable, shicaca happens. Plain and simple. Don't be delusional and assume that you can ward off all accidents.

I tend to agree with devilot, but I also understand where you're coming from. I'd recommend a hard sleeve, I ordered a Crumpler School Hymn for my MBP, but it's going to go inside the Crumpler King Single that I ordered (I know it comes with a sleeve already but nevertheless). But in your case, I'd take a look at the Brain Cell or Monolith by Tom Bihn. All three sleeves I mentioned have hard plastic inserts and will work pretty will inside any other bag, not just the other Crumpler or Tom Bihn bags.
