Anyone use one? I just want to play around really. I have seen some that are sold at toy stores for around $100, but I was hoping to hear from someone who has tried one. I have also seen some in the $400 range, this would really be out of my range financially but I would love to hear about your experiences. Thanks

There's an updated, higher resolution version of the Intel QX3 called the QX5. I heard Intel stopped making them but the design (or maybe the marketing) has been taken on by another company so they are still available new if you want. They only come with Windows software which is nasty to look at for anyone over the age of five. Fortunately the hardware is excellently supported by MixScope 2.1 (now a universal binary) @ $15.

I've got both for my science lab. The QX5 is well worth the extra. It was about £70 I think.

Hope you find what you want!
