If you do get it on OSX, I would suggest through Steam. I've had issues where the Luncher for the standalone in OSX refuses to even start.
While everything plays fine through steam.
There is also a new Star Trek: Next gen launching the start of may.
Easily one of the best TCG's I've played recently, and I enjoy it far more than Hearthstone. It also has more content, and better artwork.
The tutorials, and campaigns are designed to help you learn while simply having fun, and you'll find your footing between all the decks rather quickly.
There's also little need to spend money bar cosmetic items, since by simply playing and finishing the campaigns you can easily unlock all the starter decks, and collect premium cards.
Booster packs are only there for people that just don't want to go through that, although by doing so you'll already need to know how to play those decks/factions.
