Hi Guys,

Can anyone please help me clear my doubt, basically I am trying to understand the difference between these two APPS, If anyone knows anything about this or has any experience using about these please comment or please tell me.

So both these APPS basically work as a Tool where you can park your data or paste anything, which you want to later on use at other place or in any other APP. Like a Parking Garage and later pick up from there. So do you guys feel any difference between these two APPS or does it essentially look the same to you aswell ?

APPS :

https://apps.apple.com/in/app/copied/id1015767349

Any comments guys will help !

Thanks !

You might want to look at Drafts for your stated purpose than either of these. Available on macOS and iOS.

Copied is more for text snippets, Gladys is more for files.

I have tried both. Copied is an app I use pretty often, though it hasn’t been updated in some time, and thus does not support the newer resolutions of the iPhone X and iPad Pro displays. It still works fine though.

It’s also useful if you want to quickly copy and paste multiple snippets of text on your phone from one app to another.

What copied is good for is if you find yourself often pasting the same stock response over and over again. Or sometimes you find a good quote and want to quickly store it in Copied so you can retrieve it later. For example, I have a response stored in Copied that lists out what I do with my Apple Watch. So if I come across a post which asks for what people do with their AW, I can just switch to the third party keyboard, locate the relevant response, paste it in, and post the text without having to type everything all over again.

It has saved me a fair amount of time and effort over the years.

Gladys is more for hosting files. An example of how I have used it is when I am doing research for a topic and I can drag and drop all matter of files into it, from text to links to image files. Then copy them all into say keynote.

They each shine in different use cases. Anecdotally, I will say that Gladys excels when used as a floating app on your ipad, because that’s where its drag-and-drop support really shines. I find I don’t really use it on my phone, because it’s pretty cumbersome to access as a stand-alone app.

Copied works fine on your ipad or iphone, though I use it more on my iphone because of its third-party keyboard support.

I find I don’t really use either of them on my Mac. Part of their allure is that they solve very real limitations I face on my iOS devices (namely that copying and pasting stuff is still a PITA). Issues I don’t face on PCs because the interface pretty much allows me to just bulldoze through any inefficiency.

That is a great explanation !! Thanks for typing the whole explanation ! Coming back to your earlier statement of Coped not supporting the Resolution of the iPad Pro, I see on my 11" iPad Pro it does have a Full Screen APP which is optimized for the 11" iPad Pro so I dont know what you mean ? So to summarize in nutshell Copied is more for Snippets, Text Snippets it cannot have Images in its repository where as Gladys can right ?

I think I am gonna use and keep both in that case as they both have slightly different functionalities.

This is what I see on my iPad Pro.

Notice the black bars on top and below the app? It also means that the app it shares the screen with it also “hijacked” into not supporting the iPad Pro resolution, which just looks ugly to me. It doesn’t stop the app from working as it should though.

The app is still very useable. It just hasn’t been updated in a while, though I have used it for many years and it has more than paid for itself.

I don’t think copied can save images. I could be wrong though, but I have never tried to use it for such.
