infra red Iphone camera

Has anybody but me tried to shoot infra red pictured with the iphone?

I used an 87 (deep red) filter in front of the lens and shot a few pictures. I was pretty amazed with the preliminary results. I need to find a better spot to shot IR pictures but What I am looking for here is pointers from others who might have done the same thing.

All these camera phones pick up IR. I use it to determine if the batteries in the remotes are shot or if something else is wrong. You could probably get one of those "IR Spotlights" to light up an area and take pictures without anyone noticing. Well, as long as you have the sound turned off so no one hears the obnoxious "KLACK!" of the camera!

All the filter does is block all visible light EXCEPT for infra red, so that any IR light the camera picks up is all it uses to take the photo.
If you have an old remote control, the dark red piece of plastic on the end of it will do the same job if you hold it over the camera lens on the iPhone.

A nice sunny day with clouds against a blue sky, trees and water is ideal IR material!
