I can't seem to get the boot login screen to appear on my main 4K display like it should, and background and clock display appear confused & broken. The OC bootpicker appears on main/4k as it should. System prefs have 4K set as main display.

What might cause this? Do I need to pivot to 'regular' OpenCore? Would be so grateful for some direction, thanks.

cMP 5,1, Main display is 4K using HDMI, and Apple Cinema Display using DVI on RX590 GPU. Using @h9826790's / Marin Lo's excellent OC package (1.0.1), and reconstructed bootROM by @tsialex's w/enableGOP (which I -highly- recommend to anyone btw).

I've done Martin Lo's config.plist multi-display tweak per the video on his channel, no change, and tried reinstalling Monterey 12.6.7 with only the 4k plugged into HDMI, same outcome.

It sounds like you're using generic OpenCore, instead of OpenCore Legacy Patcher.

You can download OCLP here. It usually fixes up everything, though you can fiddle with the Settings to get the features you want. Based on your display pic, it looks like a bad job of root patches.

Try using the OCLP app to reapply root patches - that might be enough.
