I've been trying to complete my iPhone's first backup which has been taking so long I've never been home long enough for it to complete.

It starts off at 130 hours and works its way down to 30 hours (in 10 hours or so) and then I have to go out which makes it fail.

The backup size is 8.5Gb.

Is there anything I can do about this.

Thanks, Daniel

Turn off backup of items you don't need backed up. You can always switch them back on 1 by 1 day by day so they back up in the available time.

If you've got the standard free iCloud account you're going to run into problems as you've only got 5Gb of space available anyway.
