I got my iPhone yesterday, it came with 1.1.2 out of the box. I managed to resist a whole three hours before hacking it
The biggest thing I want is Apollo IM.
I followed the procedure to downgrade to 1.1.1, jailbreak, prep, upgrade back to 1.1.2, jailbreak, and install apps without any issues. Now that I've used the phone for a day though, I have to say I'm amazed at how unstable it has become.
Core apps like Mail, Phone, and the Address Book crash or hang a lot -- Phone got weird on me twice today, and Mail crashed a good half-dozen times when I tried to open a message. As far as third-party stuff goes, I have Installer (of course), Summerboard, Customize, Apollo, iPwnce, Term-vt100, Finder, and DropCopy. I had an RSS reader and a couple games on there, but they sucked so I uninstalled them. Since I last rebooted the phone, I've only opened Apollo, so really Apollo and Summerboard should be the only things loaded into memory.
Has anyone else experienced this? I mean, I know these are homebrew apps we're loading on here so I knew they wouldn't be perfect, but the degree to which they can interfere with the stable operation of the iPhone's normal apps is disturbing.
