I’ve been posting about this a bit in the last few 14.6 beta threads, but I’m expanding my testing a bit and wanted to create a thread devoted to this.
I’m currently running the iOS 14.6 beta and have been finding that sending Instagram links through iMessage appear normally when I send them while connected to WiFi, but they appear incorrectly when I send them while connected to cellular:
I thought that this was a universal issue, and that anyone sending Instagram links while on cellular service was having the same problem…but that’s not the case.
A friend of mine is running iOS 14.6, as well as T-Mobile cellular service, and is having the same issues as me. However, I’ve seen MacRumors people claiming that Instagram link previews are working fine for them with T-Mobile service on iOS 14.6. In addition, I know people on T-Mobile who are experiencing the same problems on iOS 14.5.1.
If you’ve made it this far - congrats!
I’d like to ask you to post the following information:
A) whether Instagram link previews appear correctly when sent over cellular
B) which version of iOS you’re running
C) which cellular service you have
So, in my case:
A) Instagram previews are NOT working over cellular
B) I’m running iOS 14.6 Beta 3
C) I have T-Mobile in the US
This will be very helpful to me as I continue to troubleshoot this issue.
