InstaGram: Two Different Profile Views?

I feel this changed happened about a month ago and can’t find an answer as to why some people vs others are getting a different profile view?

I have 2 IG accounts, one for friends and family and one for just sharing memes. The first has a few hundred followers and the other has a few thousand. I get two different view when looking at peoples profiles and don’t seem to know why this is.

When checking IG on desktop or Safari web browser on my iPhone I get the same always standard view but these two screenshots are from the iOS IG app.

*note: none of my accounts are business accounts.

Notice the newer view doesn’t list the amount of posts.

I’m selling the IG meme account and will be deleting the IG personal account come January 1st.

I saw an article on ArsTechnica around Thanksgiving Week. It's some a/b testing they're doing for a future profile look. It'd be better if they shut down. I don't see the point of Instagram much less Facebook. Though I suppose if people enjoy the pissing contest that is sharing pictures of their food or their latest pedicure, then so be it. Mindless individuals.

I agree, mindless is the perfect word. I hate it, but it brings in revenue so there’s that. My kid uses TikTok which i don’t know how to use nor navigate but it seems like it’s the next Vine; he’ll it probably already is.
