Install 10.10.2 update with GTX 980 GPU

I have a cMP with a nVidia GTX 980 GPU. I would like to install the 10.10.2 update, but I don't want to go through the hassle of switching around GPUs. Is there any way to do the update without disabling the nVidia web driver?

Not the most horrible thing ever but it would be great to be able to update without disassembling my Mac =)

Hmmm...there is no official 10.10.2 so i think you should wait for release and give some days for nvidia to release new drivers.

If you don't want to swap card, then you can either:

1) Install 2 cards (e.g. GT120).

2) Get a 980 with custom EFI firmware.

Otherwise, you may try remote control as well (e.g. Google remote), but I am not 100% will it work or not.

I think it's worth to try, but you better make your profile auto log in, and auto run the server app.

The Google Remote apps is definitely NOT a copy of your current screen. I can remote control my profile's desktop on my iPhone/iPad, and at the same time my wife using the Mac with her own profile which is actually displaying on the monitor. She can't see what I am doing, and won't affect my control. She don't even know that I am remote accessing the Mac. So I guess the chance are there even though the GPU is not initialised. However, if you are using some apps which purely work like a screen sharing, the chance of success will be reduced.
