Install 10.11 on 2006 Macbook

Hello Everyone!

I have 2006 MacBook 2,1 with Core2 Duo and 2Gb of Ram. Trying to figure out how to install 10.11 so that I can upgrade to Sierra from there. Is there a solution?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have tried installing using installer disk.

You won't be able to. Check Sierra's requirements... hell, check Yosemites or earlier OS requirements. Your 2006 MacBook is way unsupported new OS by now.

Yes this is what I was afraid of. It is currently using 10.6.8. I have seen different hack methods on the net as well but not sure I should attempt any of those methods.

*Assuming you go ahead with the upgrade*

Let me put this in clear terms, if you do go up to Sierra, you'll end up with a widely unstable machine as the drivers won't be updated to handle Sierra.

Your MacBook will run pretty poorly on anything beyond SL. If you need the latest supported browsers/applications, you'd be better off throwing Windows 7 onto it instead.

Oh and an SSD.
