I just finished up a fresh install of Windows 7 and downloaded and installed the NVidia driver from their site directly since the one in the Boot Camp files is pretty old and technically the Vista driver anyway.

But I still need the Brightness, Sound, etc key functionality. Is there a way to selectively install Boot Camp drivers? That's the only one I need. The wireless, chipset, video and everything else works just fine (and in some cases better) than the ones included in Apple's setup.

What stops you from just installing the drivers you want over the Boot Camp drivers after they're installed?

The last time I tried that the NVidia install file wouldn't recognize the chipset. It was also on a Macbook Pro with the 9600M, although the Late 2008 model. This is the new June 2009 one.

I'm just going to try installing the files from the Apple folder under Boot Camp from the OS X DVD. Those are the only ones I need anyway.

Shame that Apple doesn't include the latest drivers for the hardware.
