I wonder if there is anyway to do the following to make using the windows on my Mac even more easy and simple:

I have vmware fusion (recent version) installed on my Mac and viewed under "Unity" so the Windows and Mac apps are all viewed on the Mac desktop.

What I want to do is to be able to install windows apps ".exe" that are downloaded under Mac directly on windows with just double clicking on the file that is in the Mac platform while vmware is already launched or not yet.

I tried some methods like opening files with "exe" extention directly by vmware..but that won't work, I don't know what else to try..

Unfortunately no. The way emulators like VMWare work is that they don't have access to stuff on the Mac side. I suppose you could make a program that launches VMWare when you click on an exe but I don't think VMWare exposes their APIs to let you make the launcher for the exe. If you want to run Windows programs without launching the emulator, look at Crossover Mac or Wine (http://www.winehq.org), the open source program that Crossover is based on.

I actually got it working without installing anything more!!

Just did this for one time:

Ran fusion, selected an exe file on my Mac, make it open by Windows explorer and checked "change all".

Now whenever I download any exe file on my Mac, i just double click on it and vmware launches in the background (unity mode and opens the installer in front of me on the Mac, I can finish the installation and the app will run.

I made a folder named "win apps" on my mac and shared it on windows via fusion, where i choose to save apps while installing exe apps, I can start most of these from the Mac by just a clicking an icon and it would start very quickly and quietly on vmware like if I weren't even starting a virtual machine, however, this specific point doesn't work for all apps, it worked with utorrent and ares galaxy, but not borland turbo c++ or Acustica audio mixer..there should be a reason about that..

But I still can always launch vmware and do cmd+L and choose any installed windows app so quickly..
