In DP2-DP3, many people were having issues on install. I was one. The installation would finish then when computer rebooted, the screen would lock on the apple logo. As of DP4 today, installation completed and runs just fine. Let us know if it works the same for you. Hopefully Apple fixed this major bug for all. (PS I was running Macbook 2009)

I made my SL cd the start up disk . Ran the repair on the disk. Choose the harddrive as the startup and it worked. My install errors made it clear for me there were permission errors that needed fixing. I could not boot into the recovery partition.

Any errors I blame of meds I'm currently taking :)

Booted off my snow leopard install disk, repaired disk and permissions, installed no problem after that.

I had the same problem: install failed, checking log showed a disk error, so I booted off SL disk and ran disk repair.
It seems to be working ok now, fingers crossed.
I guess I should have thought to check the disk before starting the install, but I think Apple need to include a disk check as part of the install when they go retail, otherwise a lot of people will get caught out...

I had the same issue. I started installing DP4 from the dmg (didn't burn a disc). It said "installation failed." I rebooted and tried again. No dice. I booted into the SL disc, repaired permissions, and booted into the Macintosh HD (I renamed it to DogCow). To my surprise, it booted into DP3 (build 11A459e). I am just counting my blessings and NOT doing dp4. The next install of Lion I will do is the GM and then the public release.
