On an older MBP that tops out on El Cap. Mac App Store seems to refuse to allow me to download anything that doesn't require 10.15.

Is there a way around this?

Try to install them from your "Purchased" list. Some apps are broken and show Big Sur only versions, but you should be able to get older versions of many apps from the "Purchased" list.

This isn’t working for me.
