I've just installed Tiger (10.4) on a PowerMac G4 with 800Mhz.
But now I'm looking to install Leopard (10.5) on my PowerMac.
I've got the DMG installation file burned on a DL-DVD, but the installation keeps giving the same message that tells me it can't be installed because of my hardware configuration.

I came across a topic on this forum where someone mentioned to type three lines of commands in order to let the system think it has got a 867Mhz CPU...
But I didn't manage to get the second line of commands to execute because I got the message: '' unknown word ''

This is what I'm talking about:

For single CPUs, use the following three lines:

dev /cpus/PowerPC,G4@0
d# 867000000 encode-int " clock-frequency" property
boot cd:,\\:tbxi

So I've tried the third line as well but that one also gave me an error as well.

I can't figure out what to do next..

I've read about a modified mpkg file which I also managed to download from the same topic.
Do I need to place it into the DMG file while mounting it??

Thanks!

Why mess around with open firmware?

http://leopardassist.sourceforge.net/

Or, hook the Tiger Mac up via TDM to another Mac capable of booting from a Leopard disk and install to the Tiger Mac.

If that isn't possible, just use the link I provided.
