I am LOST.

I recently installed a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 2048 MB graphics card in My 2009 Mac Pro. The card works just fine. Then I installed software that claims it would work better with CUDA (drivers?) installed. I have downloaded 12+ different drivers from a very confusing NVIDA website. Nothing works. I keep getting a message when trying to install the downloaded software "“WebDriver-387.10.10.10.40.127.pkg” can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.".

All the drivers for both WEBDRIVER and CUDADRIVER packages show this message. I did get one package to begin to install but it was for Mavericks and it said it would probably fail, I tried it anyway and yup, it failed.

Maybe a problem is that quite some time ago I flashed (?) my 4,1 to hypnotize it into thinking it is a 5,1 for a reason that escapes me now, but was recommended on the MacRumors forum. Maybe it is the 5,1 flash that is not allowing the install of the drivers??

If anyone can enlighten me (gently please) on how to accomplish this install I would greatly appreciate it. Bob

Thank You Soba for your quick response. So it appears that it is either Nvidia, or Apple, or both that has made this an impossible task. I thought maybe it was me, I do not know enough about this so stick in ones eye where it would be noticed. Most of the post you directed me to is written in MacGreek. I have only used the terminal maybe twice which never did anything, so I leave it alone. I cannot lose the use of my MAC, CUDA or no CUDA. At least the GTX 680 is working. Of course I just finally bit the bullet and bough a better GPU than the 120 I had in it. I may have bought the wrong brand GPU.
