Sorry for the noob questions, but

I recently purchased a new Mac Pro which came with iLife 09.

My MBA came with iLife 08.

I'd like to do a clean reinstall on my MBA and add the 09 apps.

First, what's on what DVD? Is the OS on one DVD and all the bundled apps on the other or is there a mix of apps on both DVD's?

One potential snag is that I recall reading somewhere that the MP install of OSX includes optimizations/support for Nehalem... would this screw up my MBA or would it ignore that stuff?

Not sure what the best approach is... any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Anywhere but here
Your Mac Pro install discs will not allow to you reinstall Leopard on the mba.
The discs will only run on the Mac Pro that it came with. Your only option is to buy a copy of iLife 09.

yep the OS X disks are hardware specific. however some iLife disks (non grey disks) aren't.

if you wanted to... you could format and clone your drives... that's what worked for me to get Leopard and iLife '09 on my mini :)
