I have two 6 pin cable in Mac Pro. And I get a RX 580 Saphire Nitro +, which need a 8 pin and a 6 pin power. Can I simply use "mini 6 pin to 8 pin adaptor" to plug to the 8 pin power slot?

Or I need to use a DUAL 6 pin to 8 pin adaptor? If so, how do I get another 6 pin power source from Mac Pro??

I really regret buying the Saphire version, because MSI version of RX 580 only need one 8 pin power.

The Nitro+’s 6pin is optional.

Hi, on this particular card, although the 8 or 6 is optional, would it be best to get a cord that uses both 6 pin connectors through the 8 pin on the card? I plan on getting this or a RX480, and I want to be sure to not damage the logic board on the power consumption (Im in FCPX and Hitfilm FX programs, light work there, and a few games).

If I were going to use that card, I too would get the MSI with 1 8-Pin connector and use the 2x6 to 1x8 cable.
Thanks, I checked it out on Newegg, looks like a good card...I plan on using the 580 plus my old GT that came in the 2009 Mac Pro (flashed to 5,1)...then upgrade to the 3.46 Hex from my 3.46 Quad.

Are any additional drivers needed for the Sapphire or MSI Rx580 or do they work native in HS?
