I was using Studio MX, and all of a sudden my Fireworks portion does not work, it used to, but now I get an error everytime I start the program. All of the other portions work (dreamweaver, etc). So I moved the Fireworks portion to the trash, re-installed, still did not work, I moved the entire Studio MX to the trash, tried to re-install, still only fireworks will not run, it crashes everytime. I am very frustrated. Is there a special way to uninstall the file so that I can start with a clean slate? Are there corrupt files elsewhere on my hard drive PLEASE HELP, I am a new mac user and I am having extreme difficulty.

Try deleting the Fireworks .plist (preferences) file.

It's at [your username]/Library/Preferences/com.macromedia.fireworks.plist

When I ever have problems like these I tend to do a quick search for all programs related to (in your example) fireworks. Just open finder and enter a search query for "fireworks". Then drag everything it finds that seems to be related to the program into the trash. Then try reinstalling. Usually does the trick although just removing the preference file often works to. Good luck!
