I just started installing OS X El Capitan and the installation froze at about 80-90%(judging by the meter). So, what I did was just force shut off and tried just starting it up again. I got to the log in screen, typed in my password and a new bar appears also going to 80-90% where it just freezes.
So, I thought I had to start up in recovery mode. I restarted, holding cmd + r, and what happened is I get the same apple icon and the bar at 80-90%(look at the attachment)

If you can't access recovery mode it's most likely because the recovery partition is corrupted or as the Mac OS X install is left unfinished you won't be able to access it.
Maybe some files were corrupted in the install program.
Have you updated from a current OS (ex: Yosemite)
Or have you decided to go for a clean install via a USB stick?
If you used a USB stick, relaunch the El Capitan install program from there, reformat the disk using Mac OS extended journaled.
Then relaunch the install.
If you updated from Yosemite or any other systems, you might not be able to recover your system at this time.
If the install get stuck at 80% or 30% and that you can't get back to the previous version of Mac OS X and that you don't have any Time Machine backup, the only way is to either boot up from a Mac OS X Bootable drive you might have created or launch the Internet Recovery process.
To launch Internet Recovery, You have to use
Command+Option+R just a second after the Mac boot chime so that you can use Internet Recovery.
You will then arrive at a similar screen of OS X install programs that will allow you to perform some tasks and the more important of all Reinstalling OS X
The version that will be installed on your Mac will depend which version your Mac shipped with.
This may take a while to complete as it needs to download additional components.
