Hello,
I'm getting a SSD soon and was planning a clean install of ML instead of cloning my HDD. I've got an external enclosure that I plan on using to format the SSD to HFS+.
My question is: can I install ML on the SSD via the USB connection just by mounting the ML.dmg file on the Desktop? I imagine it would be no different from installing ML on a separate partiton of my internal HDD (which is the setup I'm currently running). The reason I'm asking is because I'd like to make sure the drive is bootable and works correctly before I swap it with my HDD.
I know I could just format the drive to HFS+, then put the drive into my MBP and install the OS via USB/DVD -- this way would most likely be faster, but I'm not concerned with the amount of time and would rather not do it this way.
Thanks
