I've just started having this problem. Usually when I install an app, App Store automatically closes and it takes me to the app. But recently, when I choose an app to install, it doesn't do that plus the app doesn't show up on my iPad. In the App Store I see that it's greyed out with Installed written which means the app is somewhere on my iPad. I did a search on my iPad and it shows that the app is there but i can't find it, it's as though the app is hidden. I tried installing a lot of apps, same thing, App store says installed but I can't find it on my iPad. I've tried rebooting twice as well. Anyone experienced this issue?

App Restriction?

I had this issue on my daughters iPod. Turns out I had the "App Rating" set too low in Settings>General>Restrictions>(Allowed Content)Apps. Setting the App rating to "Allow All Apps" solved the issue for me.

Or Perhaps it's one of your other restrictions?

Yes.

You should be able to find it via Spotlight.

Can't quite remember how I recovered.

I think maybe deleting your last app, and then the hidden appeared... or something.

I do have it set to Allow all apps.

Is there a limit in the number of apps or pages of apps? Because I've deleted a couple, and the apps that weren't showing have now appeared. I found out that I can't get past page 10. So I'm guessing 10 pages of apps is the limit? I do have 17 GB of storage available, so it's not the memory.

I just find out how to fix :)

Its easy to fix because i had same problem today and i just find out how to fix! First go to Setting(App)->General->Usage and see all your apps until you find out your installed app which not shown in springboard, Searchings, Even swipe another page. There you can delete the app you downloaded! Do not restore your idevice it is time waisting if you can fix without restore!

Installed Apps Not Showing

I've posted this about 8 months ago :p
I've fixed the problem a long time ago but your post would be very helpful for people with the same issue. Thanks!

Do you have a lot of apps? If so there is a limit to the number of pages Springboard can display. Once you reach this limit any future apps will not be displayed. However they are installed but you will need to use Spotlight to find them.

Fix with iTunes

I was able to fix it with iTunes (11.01.12 and my IOS is 5.1.1). Open iTunes and connect the phone. Go to Device >> your-device on the side menu and Apps on the top menu. In the search box, type your missing app name. Drag it onto the springboard screen to the right. An "Apply" button will show up where the Sync button is located, replacing it...click that.

If you do have to sync, or it gives you some fearful message about apps being deleted, then cancel and backup your iPhone so you can reverse any data loss.
To backup, Click Summary on the top menu, and select Backup Now from the Manual section at right. After the backup is complete, return to first steps to place app icon onto springboard and Apply change.

other notes:
Before this fix, For a while, I was able to see the icon in iTunes, but not on the iPhone, and the screens where out-of-sync. After the sync, the screens matched, but the icon was gone.
By the way, this was for TalkATone voip/phone app. Originally, it was stuck installing on iPhone App Store ... web page indicated "installing" continuously. I was able to download and install it via iTunes app store.
