Who else is going to give it a shot? It’s early but seems snappy so far.

Mine's a lot buggier, have the 128gb one.

Had to restart it a minute ago as the dock totally disappeared, apps wouldn't open, and the iPad wouldn't rotate.

Now it's stuck in control center...
 
Yeah once this gets a couple days in, I wanna know how the battery life is on the 10.5 inch for people...it sounds like people had wildly different experiences with the developer betas depending on the iPad that they installed it on. I want to install this on my 10.5 inch badly but I figure not at the expense of straining/killing the battery. I'm thinking I'll probably have to wait till the second or third public beta.

Having the dock and a dedicated files app is a game changer for me. Something seemingly so minor, but makes the iPad closer to Mac OS than ever before.

I'm actually having to re-learn how I use the iPad, but in a good way. Took me a while to really decide on what items I want in my dock.
 
I'm super interested in peoples experiences with the Files app, how does it handle and manage images / videos / audio?

For instance does opening an audio file in it launch iTunes?

Is your camera roll and audio notes accessible / navigable in Files?

Does the drag and drop functionality or API need to be implemented on a per app basis? Or will for instance a video file drop straight from Files into VLC or similar?

Does it have a built in pdf preview, or does it prompt to open in ibooks/notes etc?

Sorry, machine gun questions!

Seems fairly stable on my iPad 9.7 (2017). A few glitches here and there and some random app crashes from time to time, but that's to be expected. Overall very usable. Battery life seems fairly stable as well - still early though.
 
I took the plunge. Works fine so far, except for the blanked out calendar icon ;) The battery seems to be draining quite fast, and it's super annoying that almost no 3rd party app has drag and drop built in yet ;)

Also I already begin to miss my 12.9" screen for the splitscreen-fest when the keyboard keeps popping up all the time.
 
The only problem I've had so far was that the dock was stuck at some point. I couldn't bring up just the dock while swiping up, I had to keep going into multi-tasking view if I wanted to see it. But a restart resolved it and I haven't seen it again yet.

The restart seems to have resolved the Calendar icon issue as well. I wonder if there are some tasks that just aren't being finished during the install process, and a restart gives the system an opportunity to clean these up.

As for battery, it's way too early to tell. Remember that EVERY update kills battery in the first couple of days because of spotlight re-indexing. Also, since Apple changed the way photo tagging works, I'm sure all our photos are being reprocessed after every update as well. Need to wait at least a couple days before you can get a sense for battery performance.
