I brought my iphone4 from Canada to the UK and had it unlocked with a gevey sim. But since I'm new to the whole unlocking/jailbreaking world, I proceeded to upgrade to iOS 5 without a second thought. Now the phone just says there's an unrecognized sim card (although theres a gevey sim with a vodafone sim in there) and must consult carrier. My carrier is rogers (Canadian at&t) but I'm not a customer of their's anymore and I dont have the original SIM card. What do I do?!?!

Thanks,

it seems that ios5 installed new baseband chip software that prevents gevey from doing it's thing.

According to Apple's documentation, Rogers will officially unlock the phone on request. I suggest finding out what's involved with that.

Rogers might be able to do it online, not that they are the most co-operative people, but you never know. You might get luck and find one that knows what they are doing and is helpful.

Rogers was uncooperative. Since I transferred my contract over to another person after only a year, I have to wait for the full three years to finish before they can unlock it.

Any idea how long it would take for the Gevey sim to fix? Weeks or months?
