Ironically I was doing the rebates while doing this.

So the printer I have is the Canon MP170, I installed the driver and asked me to reboot, I rebooted and now the damn thing wont even come on. Well technically it does. It turns on to a white screen with a nice blue line coming down from the top. As I listen to hear the HDD spinning and what not, more lines start appearing until I have a disgusting mosaic of a bunch of colors running down vertically.

Any suggestions of what to do? I just came back from the Apple store but the wait for the genius was 2 hours long so i left. I was talking to the manager and he said it was more than likely it is a screen failure or a logic board failure, but still had to go through the geniuses. Ill try to head back tommorow or later on tonight, but if anyone has a clue on what I should do, please give some advice.

You could take pictures in case the problem goes away before you go, and you can still get repairs done.
Boot from install CD1 while pressing the "D" key
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303081
will take you in to hardware test.

This will probably be all fine.

Repeat procedure using the "C" key
This will let you reinstall the system
You could try disk utility to check the disk and permissions to avoid a reinstall.

Reinstall the system. You probably installed PPC drivers and i have encountered quite some freakish behavior with PPC drivers on an intel machine.
download and install the intel version of the needed driver.

Sorry for the inconsistency of this post. It's to hot, late and i need a cigaret.

Good luck

Well the genius flashed my PRAM and everything is all fine now :D
