OK, so here is the guide.
This guide assumes you have computer knowledge on file systems in the iPhone and basic computer skills
So to start of you need 3 things...
I. Jailbroken iPhone (duh)
II. iBrickr (any version - I used version .91)
III. App Store Icon (found as an Attachment at the end of this post)
Step 1
- Connect iPhone to computer (Mac or PC) and open iBrickr and connect to iPhone.
Step 2
- Once in iBrickr select 'Files', and you will then see a fake iPhone appear on the right.
Step 3
A
- In the fake iPhone you will see all the different folders of the iPhone. Look and select Applications.
B
- Once in the application folder, search for Installer.app and select it.
Step 4
- Now you are in the files Installer uses to do it's magic. However, in order to change the icon we must change one and
only one file.
Step 5
A
- Search and select for the file called icon.png
B
- Download it using iBrickr (this is for back-up issues)
Step 6
- Now to continue you have to have the App Store icon with you. If not, I put in this guide for you. If so, let's continue and rename the App Store icon image to icon.png
Step 7
- The following steps are the "hardest" to speak, but in reality thanks to iBrickr are very easy.
A
- First, delete the icon.png from Installer in the iPhone. Yes yes to whatever message iBrickr tells you of permanently deleting your file.
B
- Now, to upload your App Store icon. You are still in the files of Installer, so click the Upload file button in iBrickr and select your App Store icon which MUST be under the name of icon.png.
Step 8
- Ok, so we are done to a 99.9999%. To finish, RESTART your iPhone, not the springboard.
Step 9
- Enjoy!!
