I heard Installer isn't on there yet...

How do you get Installer on or is there any news about a release if its not out yet..?

I don't even think Installer will be on 2.0. Nullriver makes legit iPhone software now. I would think they would just not make Installer anymore.

Cydia is great, better than installer.

Just use Cydia. It's like Installer, only open source. :)

So I have the first generation iPhone running 2.0 software. My phone has never been jailbroken/unlocked, but I'd like to unlock it now. I downloaded both bootloaders. How should I go about doing this? (Just know that I'm a total novice in this jailbreak stuff).

You mean a step by step tutorial for the tool that was just released that is tailored to people who have already upgraded to 2.0 and have never jailbroken their phone before?

If there is, I can't find it...
