I have a intel based macbook with a messed up dvd drive. I converted my 10.5 disc to a dmg file. what do I have to do to install it from my external hd? thanks

Hook the external up to the MacBook and open up Disk Utility.

Within disk utility, go to the Restore option, and set the Leopard disk as the source, and the external as the destination. That should unpack it in such a way that you can boot from it by holding ALT when you restart your computer.
