I saw an iMac 5K late 2015 being offered on ebay with 5TB SSD, but there are no detailed specs, like the SSD manufacturer, etc.

The additional 4TB probably comes from 2 2TB SATA3 SSDs, right? Is that possible to connect and fit internally?

It could be legit. You could install a third party 1TB PCIe flash module then this Samsung 3.84TB SATA SSD to get the 4840GB total.

From this line in the auction specs, I'm guessing that is what they did.

Or ... perhaps they meant .5TB (500GB) and missed the decimal point???

Never mind ... just looked at the eBay ad and it appears they have clarified it somewhat, and the price could/should certainly include that pricey SSD linked to.

I don't think so. If you look at the auction that 4840GB is mentioned in multiple places in different ways. It seems clear to me anyway they really mean 4840GB.
