Guys,

I am brand new to the world of mac (as of today!) and have a question about using multiple accounts and software installation. Please go easy on me!

when i installed a game under steam on one account its not showing up when i try to use it under another user account.

Is this the same for all applications that i install. i.e. if i bought pages on one account, another user couldn't use it without paying and installing it also?

I am sure this isn't the case, but any help or advice would be appreciated.

ta!

I think that is a Steam thing. You may want to check the preferences on Steam for multiple accounts.

Installing other apps, such as from the MAS (Mac App Store), they will be able to be used across any account unless specifically denied by an administrator.

It is Steam. Steam puts downloaded games in the users ~/Documents folder so they are not accessible to other users on the machine.

Steam apps are placed here:

/Users/*UserName*/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps

To have them accessible to another account on your Mac, you would have to copy them to the other user's SteamApps folder.

I don't know of any other method.
