I'm considering buying a macbook pro and installing bootcamp with windows xp. I own an old dell PC with a copy of XP on it with the install cd. I'm considering clearing off that dell and putting linux on it..essentially freeing up that copy of windows. Does anyone know if I can then use this copy of windows xp to install via bootcamp on the macbook pro? Thanks.

That dell also has office 2003 on it...so i'd assume the same would apply for office? Thanks.

You might be able to install the copy, but you might not be able to activate it (or you might Windows is strange when it comes to that). There is also a legal question here. Is it legal to install that copy of Windows on you MacBook Pro.
