We've got a couple of G4 733 Quicksilvers running Panther here at work that do useful things like serving files and ripping print jobs and they'll remain in place for at least another 2 years.

However, I'd like to put a DVD R or DVD RW drive in each of them so that if or when I come to install Tiger or Leopard on them, I can do so easily rather than messing around with workarounds.

Can I just purchase a couple of Pioneer drives and put them in? Will they be bootable? Something like the DVR-107 etc.?

Thanks for any feedback

Thanks for the link but I've got to purchase them here in the UK... normally, I'd just go to dabs or one of our other suppliers that we have an account with.
