Installing harddrive with macbook timemachine partition

Hi,

I've got an external 1tb harddrive in a cheap enclosure which ive partitioned half for my macbook's backup timemachine.

I want to install it in my new mac pro for the other 500gb, if i do can i still access it (either via a cable or wirelessly) by the macbook?

yes, just make sure to set up file sharing on the mac pro
