I have a 2011 MBP, I also have the Mac OS High Sierra.DMG
I want to install it on a blank drive in the in the mac, maybe from an external drive or maybe another mac of the same era.
Ok you clever guys out there will say, a monkey can do that.
Can anyone help out please...............please.

Where did you get the DMG?
You would need to open your .DMG, which may be an image of a High Sierra installer disk, (or it may be something else, which you won't know without opening it) which you would need to restore to an external drive. But, it may only be an image of the installer app, which is not really useful at this point.
